Our institution adopted the “Understanding by Design (UbD)” teaching model in k-12 integrity as its understanding of education. This UbD model helps teachers to actively plan their instruction by acting like a designer, to take related steps in line with the big picture that they aim to reach as they plan the instruction, and to take a holistic approach to their teaching by making connections.
A learning environment where a UbD-based plan is implemented makes the students more advantageous as it makes their learning more permanent and helps them transfer knowledge to different learning environments because this sort of learning environment ensures that the learning occurs in an interrogative and applied way, and that the students express themselves frequently, share their thoughts, and present their learning in an interrelated way.
