THE STUDENTS GAIN THE FOLLOWINGS AT PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS COURSES IN THE MIDDLE SCHOOL;
The students learn the fundamental information about sports skills and physical exercises that they can use during their lives.
They know the health benefits of sports.
They know that protective physical activities will give them life-long active participation ability.
They develop their speed, strength, resilience, flexibility, and coordination with practices and games.
The realize the moving skill development and they know the reasons.
They know when and how they should eat during physical activities.
They join physical activities regularly.
They know and use their psychomotor characteristics.
They know and apply the attack and defense strategies/tactics in games and activities.
They learn about the net and racket games, and they practice their learning.
They play target games.
They learn about the branches and practice their learning.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT IN THE MIDDLE SCHOOL
The students specialize in one of the following sports branches with branch teachers’ advice and guidance:
The students are given a branch choice form in the beginning of the school year, and they are given the right to choose 3 branches. Out of 3 choices, the students are placed in one according to their talents and interests and they specialize in that branch by working with the branch teacher during PE classes during the year.
MEASUREMENT AND ASSESSMENT FOR THE MIDDLE SCHOOL PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS COURSES
The students are academically graded according to their learning in their sports branch and their class performance.
In addition, the students are taught fundamental information about how an athlete should eat, first-aid in sports, and other sports branches.
In the beginning and at the end of the school year, the students are given anthropometric tests and physical aptitude tests and their progress is monitored.
